Changsha’d

A few weekends back was Tomb Sweeping Holiday and Kyle and I were able to get out of town. We went as far west in China as we’ve ever been – to Changhsa (FYI – not ‘that’ far west, but still….we’re getting out). It was great to see another part of China as this country is massive. We were also lucky enough to meet an old friend there, spend time outside and eat some spicy food!

Our first day in Changsha consisted of a walk around Orange Island and seeing the massive Mao head.

Day two was a wet hike around one China’s five sacred mountains, Hengshen.

Nightlife consisted of wandering the people-filled streets of downtown Changsha, (great) people watching and eating the town’s famously spicy food (it wasn’t that spicy). Mao-standing
