A long, long time. Fourth of July was a bit ago but the summers always seem to fly by. Especially this one – pictures to come soon. Here’s the run-down:
Korea – mostly pleasant.
Vietnam – whoa, whoa, whoa…hold on to your bag! Crazy place.
Cambodia – absolutely amazing. Amazing.
Eight hour layover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – twin (Petronas) towers and mall.
Pit stop back through Korea, then Guam, then…
Hawaii – truly heaven on earth. Paradise.
Back to Guam for a night. A walk about Guam with a nice dinner and some observations. Definitely seemed closer to Asia than America.
Layover in Japan that was not successfully extended but I did get some bites of that delicious ramen in the airport. Japanese airport ramen….better than no Japanese ramen at all.
Back to Seoul…a few days in Seoul or one night in Bangkok?
Bangkok wins out – a surprisingly delightful city!
Singapore – sterile, a bit uptight, and not much character. And the $15 beer is not a myth…this is where it exists. Obviously not the place for me.
Back to Kuala Lumpur for a few days. Met some friends from Andong and had a good time.
Back to Thailand, the southern part this time: Phuket. A nice beach vacay to end it all..only problem…it rained every day but the last one! Good food and good rest before starting another semester.
Overall I am thankful for my adventures, thankful to be home, and ready for my own bed!
